Fail to Add a Face Profile in Smart Detection for eufyCam/E

When eufyCam (the original eufyCam) and eufyCam E work with the original HomeBase (not HomeBase E or HomeBase 2), you are able to add a familiar face to the App in Smart Detection. Other cameras do not have this feature.

 

How to Troubleshoot

 If your eufyCam or eufyCam E failed to add a face profile in Smart Detection, please try the below steps:

1. Check that your face picture meets the required standards.

2. Take a new photo for the face picture.

3. Reboot HomeBase by clicking the CYCLE button on the back of HomeBase. 

 

Why Failed to Detect a Trusted Face

For the eufycam, the detection result of Facial Recognition relies on a few factors:

1. The distance between eufyCam and the object.

2. The moving speed of the object.

3. The angle of the face in relation to euyCam.

4. The brightness and clarity of the video.

5. During the daytime for the eufycam the facial recognition distance is  6-9ft.
