Video Doorbells can reliably detect horizontal motion up to 15 feet and vertical motion up to 5 feet.  You can also configure video doorbell’s motion detection sensitivity by going to Doorbell Settings > Motion Detection.  Please note that distance of sensitivity varies from different lighting and viewing conditions.

Note: Depending on the environment where the video doorbell is installed, it is sometimes recommended to install the included 15° mounting wedge for motion detection purposes.
