Important Notes

1. What Is an Alarm Permit?

An alarm permit is an official registration required by many local  governments for homes or businesses with professionally monitored security systems. Permits help municipalities reduce false alarms by ensuring your contact information and system details are on file.

Common permit types include:

  • Police Alarm Permit: Required for burglar alarms connected to monitoring services.

  • Fire Alarm Permit: Needed if your system includes monitored smoke/CO detectors.

  • Electrical Permit: Some areas may require this for hardwired installations.

Permit names and rules vary by city. Check your local regulations for specifications.

2. Why You Need a Permit

Note: Legal Requirements (for professional monitoring plan)

  • Legal Compliance: Many municipalities will not allow eufy to begin monitoring your home without a permit.

  • Avoid Fines: Unpermitted systems may face penalties for false alarms (e.g., 50200 per incident).

  • Ensure Emergency Response: Some police/fire departments won’t dispatch to unregistered alarms.

Note: Permit requirements apply only to systems with eufy’s 24/7 Professional Monitoring. Self-monitored systems typically don’t need permits.

3. How to Get a Permit
