What to do if my Apple Watch doesn’t charge well from the USB-A port of the 735 Charger (Nano II 65W) and GaNPrime Chargers?

If the Apple Watch doesn’t charge well from the USB-A port of the 735 Charger (Nano II 65W) and GaNPrime Chargers, please read the following steps.

1. Flash our watch to the latest OS version.

Apple Watch with OS 8.3 has known intermittent charging issues when using the third-party charger, and Apple fixes this issue in the later OS version.

2. Remove any cable connected to the 2nd USB-C port first when using the USB-A port to charge the Apple Watch.

3. Use the USB-C port to charge the Apple Watch.

To keep its ultra-small size on the premise of strictly adhering to international regulations on temperature rise, the 735 Charger (Nano II 65W) and GaNPrime Chargers adopt the design of the common circuit of nearby USB-C ports and USB-A ports. To fasten the charging speed for the nearby USB-C port, this design unexpectedly affects the charging of the Apple Watch from the USB-A port. The current 735 Charger (Nano II 65W) and GaNPrime Chargers have optimized this design to fix this issue.

For 735 Nano II Charger

According to our test, when charging the Apple watch to 80%, its charging current will remain to stay at 0-15mA, whereas most of the devices in the industry will slow down the charging current below 15mA only when they are fully charged. For a better charging experience, we designed a 735 Nano II Charger with the unique current distribution rules. If it is recognized that the charging current keeps under 15mA, then it will decide that this device is fully charged to send more power to the second USB-C port. However, the Apple watch will be recognized as fully charged in this situation when it's actually not. We made a note on the Charging Guide and Notes on the product listing previously, which is "It's recommended to use the USB-C ports to charge an Apple Watch. When using the USB-A port to charge an Apple Watch, first remove any cable connected to the 2nd USB-C port".

For the previous GaNPrime Chargers

GaNPrime Chargers optimized the design based on the experience of the 735 Nano Charger. However, when the current becomes small, the charger judges that the Apple watch is fully charged and automatically disconnected in order to allow the nearby USB-C port to charge faster; when the watch's standby current becomes larger, the charger judges that the USB-A port needs to be charged and then reconnected, causing the Apple Watch and the device being connected to the nearby USB-C port to repeatedly light up the screen.

4. Unplug and reconnect the watch charger before charging if it is connected to the USB-A port for a period without having an Apple Watch placed on it.

To fast charge multiple devices as soon as possible, when the watch charger hangs on the USB-A port without an Apple Watch connected immediately, the 735 Charger (Nano II 65W) and GaNPrime Chargers will shut down the USB-A port to deliver more power to the nearby USB-C port for a faster-charging speed. Under this situation, unplugging and reconnecting the watch cable will restart the charging process of the USB-A port and resume charging the Apple watch.
