Anker USB-C to USB-C Cable FAQ

What is the difference between Thunderbolt 3.0/4.0 cable and regular USB-C to USB-C cable?

All Thunderbolt 3.0 cables also work as a regular USB-C cable, and all Thunderbolt 3.0 ports will also work as a regular USB-C port. However, not all USB-C cables are Thunderbolt 3.0 enabled. A Thunderbolt 3.0 device will not work with a cable that only supports USB protocol.

Additionally, the most important difference is data transfer speed. The maximum speed of Thunderbolt 3.0 is 40 Gbps, while the maximum speed of a regular USB-C to USB-C 2.0 is 480Mbps. Besides the data transfer speed, Thunderbolt 3.0 also supports DisplayPort video output and a 100W charging speed.

Will Anker USB-C to USB-C cable work with Android Auto in my car?
