When connected to Windows systems:

Windows supports both Multi-Stream Transport (MST) and Single-Stream Transport (SST) modes, and all connected monitors can display different content.

When connected to Mac systems:

macOS only supports Single-Stream Transport (SST). Therefore, all connected monitors will show the same content, but that content can be either the same or different from the display on the host device.
