MagSafe is the first wireless charging standard used by the iPhone 12 series to solve the problem of wireless charging alignment difficulties and is also used in the iPhone 13 series. 

The iPhone 12 and 13 series and MagSafe wireless chargers have a ring of magnets around the Qi-based wireless charging coils. When in contact, the iPhone and the charger will be automatically aligned magnetically for a close fit and faster charging speeds.
