Oculus Quest 2 is an all-in-one VR machine officially released by Facebook in September 2020, which is very popular for providing a real-time gaming experience. Not only can it run independently, but it can also be connected to the PC through the Oculus Link cable to stream with the PC. By connecting to the game PC, you can get the VR game library on the PC and a smoother gaming experience.
Many users wonder whether they can use a normal USB C cable to their PC for Oculus Quest 2. Or do they need the link cable at specific? For the optimal experience in VR for room-scale experiences, we recommend a cable that’s at least 10ft long, and USB 3.0 or greater. The Anker USB C Cable, Powerline USB 3.0 to USB C Charger Cable (10ft) is an ideal cable for Oculus Quest 2, which is also recommended by the Oculus Developer site.
But what if my Anker USB C Cable does not work with Oculus Quest 2? Please first check whether the Airlink on Quest 2 is turned off. The data line mode will always be unconnected if the Airlink is on. The cable will only charge the device but will not be able to transfer data, which affects the experience in VR.
