The Lightning cable contains an active chip that causes it to be detected by power sources even when there's no device on the other end of the cable. As a result, the lightning cable will draw power from a wall charger even with no actual device plugged into the other end, while other kinds of cable such as the USB-C cable won't.
Therefore, when you want to charge a high-wattage device using our multiport charger such as GaNPrime chargers, it’s suggested to unplug the lightning cable in other charging ports for the best charging performance.
