Understanding Charging with Anker MagGo Qi2
The Anker MagGo Qi2 series has received official Qi2 certification, enabling it to provide up to 15W of wireless charging for iPhone models 12 and later, provided they are updated to iOS 17.2 or later.
Requirements for Achieving 15W Charging
-
Battery Level: To achieve 15W charging, your iPhone's battery must be below 80%.
-
Temperature Conditions: The iPhone's temperature needs to be at or below 77°F (25°C). If the temperature exceeds this threshold, your iPhone may reduce the current input and lower the charging power as a safety measure. This reduction is a normal function of the device’s temperature control features.
-
Charging Variability: Please note that 15W is the maximum output, and the actual charging rate may vary throughout the charging process. The charger will not consistently maintain a 15W output.
How to Verify 15W Charging
-
Using a Power Detection Tool: For accurate verification of the 15W charging state, use a power detection tool such as Power-Z. This tool measures the real-time power input from the adapter to the wireless charger. A display showing 18-19W indicates that the device is in a 15W charging state, taking into account an approximate conversion efficiency of 80%.
-
Inaccuracy of Third-Party Apps: It is recommended to avoid using third-party apps to measure power output due to iOS restrictions starting from iOS 10, which block these apps from accessing detailed battery data. Therefore, these apps can only provide approximate values that should not be used to verify peak power performance.
